Kevin Butler, VP, Plasma Awesomeness

If you watch tv with any regularity you’re certain to have seen Kevin Butler. When he’s not stealing $183,000 cars, giving a much needed pep talk and offending an entire country, he oversees the Playstation brand’s Twitter strategy. And 73,747 followers say that he’s doing a damn fine job. So we got to thinking, “What’s the day of the week that Burger King has cheap Whoppers?” And then after we ate Whoppers, we got to thinking, “The VP of Playstation deserves a memento of his efforts that will stand the test of time.” It just so happens we have the perfect token of our appreciation on hand.

We’re not going lie, we’re a generous bunch. We also gave IGN’s Greg Miller the gift of logo. Well, Greg Miller wouldn’t even have a job if it wasn’t for Kevin Butler. So Kevin, this slab of glorious steel is yours for the taking. Whattaya say?

Happy New Year 2011

News from FastCut CNC.

Happy New Year. 2011 looks better for all of us.

With a new FastCut CNC Plasma Cutter you will make more money and have happier customers in 2011. It’s a simple matter of being able to cut better parts, faster and at a lower cost.

New Controller from FastCut CNC Raises the Bar.

We are now making our own cnc controller. No more compromises! This new controller is industry tested and is designed and built better than anything in the market. We know this because we’ve done it our selves.

It took a full year and now we have the best built, best performing cnc controller in this market category.

Every new FastCut CNC System will have this new controller, at no extra cost, even the entry level 4×4 ICON.

Here are some of the features that make it the best:
1. All in One enclosure means less exposed power cables.
2. Fan on Demand means cleaner air filter and controller.
3. LED Diagnostic lights make trouble shooting simple.
4. Spacious enclosure for easy upgrades.
5. High efficiency power supply detects short circuit or surge.
6. Single cable hook up means no more parallel or serial ports.
7. Mil. Spec. locking connectors eliminate vibration disconnects.
8. Industry standard ATO fuses make replacement simple.

Dollar for dollar FastCut CNC Plasma Cutters will always outperform every machine on the market.

Our new ICON Elite Rules!

A year ago, with the recession looming, we designed the lower priced ICON. It was an immediate market success. We had done our homework so we were not too surprised. The thing that did surprised us was that the ICON turned out to be much more accurate than we estimated. When we tested a router on the ICON we discovered that it is almost as accurate as out Haas CNC Mill. Go figure! This proves again that using the best components does pays off.

Here is how we did it:
1. Dual gear drives with oversized ¾” Rack and Pinion gears.
2. German linear guide-ways.
3. Extremely rigid HD 6061 extruded aluminum frame.
4. Completely sealed linear ball screw torch height system.
5. Voltage sensing automatic torch height control.
6. 600 oz. Hybrid motors.
7. Torque increased through 3:1 belt reduction transmission.
8. Wireless remote control.

Combine this perfect platform with our new controller; add unlimited support and the ICON rules the entry-level market.

This fired us up! So, we then developed an upscale ICON that would bridge the market gap between entry-level machines and the industrial models. We called it the ICON Elite. Now, it’s our best seller.
The ICON Elite has more features including:
1.Enclosed cutting surface for smoke extraction.
2.Welded steel cutting base.
3.Industrial cable carrier.

From cowboy art, to manufacturing highway trailers, we have your back. FastCut CNC will make sure that you can cut better parts, have happier customers and put more money in your pocket.

Wishing you the best for 2011,

Fire, steel and a gaming site

One of the most common ways a company can generate attention and affection is by giving people free stuff. Let’s say you work for the Coca-Cola Corporation; I bet you’d give people a lot of free Sprite. Apple has been known to include Apple logo stickers with their products. Have you ever been to an industry conference? You can go to one purely to collect free things: t-shirts, pens, food. If you’re lucky maybe a pocket LED flashlight. I got a metal water bottle once.

So anyway, FastCut CNC makes plasma cutting tables that cut steel. And they’re a bit too expensive and massive to give away. So leave generic merch like t-shirts out of the equation and you’re left with one thing we have to offer: customized pieces of steel.

We put a video up a while ago of the Bing logo being cut out. Nobody cared. In hindsight it was a dumb idea. This time, however, somebody is going to care. This time we’re doing it right, damn it. This time we’ve cut out the IGN logo.

IGN logo cut in steel

We made a video, as you can see below. We painted the thing red. And we think IGN’s Greg Miller is going to want to hang it in the IGN offices (or possibly his house if his girlfriend will allow it). Maybe we’ll even get a thank you on Podcast Beyond, we don’t know. Or maybe Greg and his fellow Beyond podcasters Ryan and Colin will make fun of us and our shameless self-promotion. The future is unknown, but we’re staring it in the face with our best Steven Seagal gaze.

Greg Miller of IGN: Can we ship this 24″ x 8 1/8″ piece of majestic steel to you at the IGN offices? @FastCutCNC wants to know.

Dennis Puetter’s CNC table demonstration

FastCut CNC customer Dennis Puetter was kind enough to post a YouTube link to a video of his FastCut table in action. Thanks Dennis! View the video below.

Plasma Cutter Demo: Bing logo

Microsoft’s Bing search engine (www.bing.com) is used for finding things on the web. In today’s video our G6 Fabricator finds Bing. Or at least its logo. Enjoy.

Welcome to the FastCut CNC Blog

The CNC Plasma Cutting industry has evolved rapidly since FastCut CNC started making systems eleven years ago. Our R&D department has worked overtime to stay on the cusp. We have developed six generations of the Fabricator series and two new ICON models.

We continue with our commitment to staying at the front of the market. We build a better machine and it is paying off for everyone, especially the end user. Our sales have actually doubled in the recession. Our new ICON Series has helped many small fabricating shops to be profitable and grow their businesses.

Now we want to provide this blog as a meeting place for all of us to discuss the machines, the business and CNC cutting techniques and procedure.

The more we hear from our customers and associates on three different continents the more we realize that we all have the same objectives: profitability and satisfied customers! Happily, each of us have out own point of view. That’s why this industry is so dynamic and progressive.

The FastCut CNC Blog is about growing our businesses. We look forward to sharing this vision with you.

Best regards,

Russel, Arron and Jordan
